President of the Azores Regional Government Inaugurates the S. Carlos School

On last Wednesday the 7th, the President of the Azores Regional Government, Carlos César, together with other regional high officers, has officially inaugurated the Tomás de Borba Primary and Secondary School, more known as the S. Carlos School, in the Terceira Island.
Edifer representatives were present at this important ceremony to the Terceira island, namely Carlos José, Rui Furtado Marques and Rui Mendonça, escorted by José Reyes, Works Manager and José Ribeiro, General Foreman.
Being one of the most important works undertaken by Edifer in the Azores, this new infrastructure includes two pavilions, a covered swimming pool, gymnastics and judo rooms, multipurpose area with synthetic grass, a 232-seat auditorium, record and video studios, own radio and television stations, four laboratories, music and dance teaching rooms and around eighty teaching rooms equipped with interactive boards and net-connected computers.
Curiously, this is the only “100% Mac” school in the country, that is, equipped with hundreds of Macintosh computers at the students and teachers service.
To the S. Carlos teachers and 800 students – joined by more than three hundred students from the Angra do Heroísmo Conservatory School, attending supplementary education – the Regional Government President underlined the quality of works which represent one of the most significant investments of ever in the Azores Education area, and one of the best schools in the country, fact which he felt proud of.
Edifer’s undertaking still involved other companies of the Group, namely Tecnasol, a Edimetal and Artemísia.
