Edifer Leads Venture to Bid for the New Roadway Operation
2008.03.13
Edifer has formed a consortium to bid for all the new sections of the Roadway Operation Projects launched by EP – Estradas de Portugal and also including the Iridium, Dragados, Tecnovia and Conduril companies.

It is a multidisciplinary Consortium with complementary know how, formed by highly experienced companies in the roadway infrastructure build-operate and finance projects.
The majority of capital in this project is concentrated on the national companies and the choice of the infrastructure operator reflects the concern with the knowledge on the National and Iberia roadway infrastructure market, as well as with the most innovating solutions in the international market.
All company groups integrating this venture participate in the building consortium and on the infrastructure exploration and operation.
This consortium has been working with different national and international famous Project designers, with a vast experience in roadway undertakings. It also has the support of a wide group of financial institutions usually involved in the financing of this type of projects.
According to Rui de Sousa, Edifer Desenvolvimento’s Director, “this new consortium is already finishing the first bid for the Operation of the High-Way in the Trás-os-Montes Northern region, to be soon presented, and it is our intention to bid for all Call for Tenders of this new series of opportunities launched by the Estradas de Portugal company, based on a corporate agreement signed by the several companies. We believe the companies’ wide covering skills are a very strong asset which enables us to present competitive bids with high contribution to the State”. The complexity and great dimension of the bidding projects, covering roadway infrastructures in several regions of the country, together with the studies to perform in each Operation, and the straight deadlines for bid submission, constitute a big challenge with the deployment of a vast group of resources to the respective projects.
