Vera Pires Coelho Received the Personality Award on the Construction Sector

Vera Pires Coelho received the Construction Personality Award, on the 2010 edition promoted by the Construir journal.
Amongst the nominees for the Construction Personality Award were Manuel Agria, Executive Vice-Chairman of ANEOP (Public Work Company National Association) and Pedro Gonçalves, Chairman of Soares da Costa. According to the Construir journal, Vera Pires Coelho stood out for “leading Edifer into a path of growth (…) despite the deteriorating economic market conditions.
The award ceremony was held yesterday at the Lisbon Casino, with an audience of approximately 500 guests, in most part Construction Sector Professionals.
Dinis Silva and Sebastião Gaiolas were there representing Edifer.
Similarly to what happened on the two previous editions, the award was decided by vote of the Construir journal subscribers who have chosen personalities, projects and institutions on the categories for Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Real Estate, from a previous selection of nominees, taking into account multiple relevance criteria for market operation.
To receive the Award, and representing Vera Pires Coelho, Dinis Silva stated “the immense honour to receive the Award in representation of Vera Pires Coelho who could not be present”, thanked the Construir and all who voted for, publicly referring the importance of the Construir Awards as a clear example of the importance and institutional presence of the Construction Sector in our country.
Also, from the several awarded projects, the Oriente Tower received the award for “Best Office Building”, which façade was built by Edimetal, a project promoted by the Consortium of Sonae Sierra, Caixa Geral de Depósitos Group, ING Real Estate and Iberdrola. Edimetal is presently building the second tower - the Ocidente Tower which, together with the before mentioned Oriente Tower, completes the Colombo Towers Project.
The Excellence Award was the only category not subject to vote and was directly approved by the Workmedia Construction Department, having been given to António Segadães, an Engineer acknowledged by the Sector |
