GPCA – Grupo Português de Construção Algérie is a company incorporated under Algerian law to be the formal instrument to enter the Algerian market.

The setting up of this company is the most important sign of the enormous strategic importance of this market and the intention of its Portuguese shareholders groups to remain there in a structured fashion.

The new company has share capital divided 50-50 between the Edifer Group, which holds the Presidency, and the Opway Group.

GPCA’s first award of contract was one of the most important construction contracts to be obtained by a Portuguese company in the international market: the construction of a residential neighbourhood in the Algerian city of Oran.
